During our final weekend in Scotland, we found ourselves stuck in a major blizzard. We received
nearly two feet of snow, which kept us trapped in the cottage for two days — until we were able to
venture up to the blessed Spittal of Glenshee Hotel for dinner and drinks on Sunday night.
On Sunday afternoon while the snow continued to fall, Kate set up in the sitting room to paint a diptych while I sat at the kitchen table and
sketched this scene of the sheep feeding on the giant hay bale in the pasture below us.
