James Taylor asked me to design a logo for his beloved Palace of Wonders — a show-themed bar and performance venue in Washington DC. The logo was to be printed on a wooden token. James suggested that I feature the centerpiece of his museum collection: the "unicorn" that was once prominently featured on the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey circus. Of course, I was happy to oblige.
Unfortunately, The Palace of Wonders no longer exists. It lingered on briefly as The Red Palace when combined with the former Red and Black bar next door, but then closed its doors to became an Italian restaurant.
