Photography

James Mundie originally began taking photographs solely for reference purposes but in time came to appreciate the possibilities and relative immediacy of the medium itself. Mundie does enjoy the magic of digital cameras, but prefers the slower and more mindful practice of analog photography which requires patience, skill, and a certain amount of luck — especially in dealing with some of the cranky vintage cameras he favors. Favorite subjects include spectacles such as circus and demoltion derby, quirky urban spaces, and the landscape of coastal Maine.
