oil on paper, 11 x 10 inches, 2003 Private collection
We live in a small rowhouse in South Philadelphia that has some fun architecture. The Moroccan-style
arch seen in this painting is a motif repeated many times throughout the house.
Shortly after Christmas in the dark days of winter I put up these Japanese-style paper lanterns in the arch
between the dinning room and kitchen. I love the reflection in the kitchen window and oriental look
of the lanterns against the red walls of the dinning room.
